? Day 3 – No More kubectl apply -f Deploy to Kubernetes Using GitOps with FluxCD
As part of the CertDirectory.io 6-Week Kubernetes Workshop, Day 3 was all about GitOps with FluxCD. kubectl apply -f deployment.yaml It works… but it doesn’t scale. Now we’re using GitOps with FluxCD, and the workflow is much cleaner: 1️⃣ Update YAML 2️⃣ Commit & push to Git 3️⃣ Merge PR 4️⃣ Flux automatically deploys to the cluster
No manual kubectl apply No configuration drift Full audit trail Production-ready workflow Git becomes the single source of truth, and the cluster continuously reconciles itself to match Git.
Special thanks to CertDirectory.io & Tharindu Kalhara for the clear explanations and hands-on guidance throughout the session. I also wrote a short Medium article explaining how it works and sharing my real repository structure.
